At MCD Dance Academy we have:
Modest Outfits
Appropriate music selection
Ages 3-Adult
3 Performances and 2 Competitions per year
Classes taught by professional and college dancers
Family discounts
Competing and non competing teams
All competition teams learn a hip hop, jazz, and lyrical dance
Dancer's Commitment
There is no registration fee. Dancers who start with us in the fall, should commit until the Christmas performance. Most dancers will continue through the competition season and June recital. We always perform at Bluffdale Town Days in August. Summer workshops, technique and tumbling classes are available through the summer months.
Fundraisers
Fundraisers are available. Let me know if you are interested, Many of the girls pay for outfits, competition fees or private lessons with money they make on fundraisers. There is a "Scentsy candle" and a pizza and a cookie fundraiser available.
Parking
Parking has been an issue in the past. We have taken out a section of grass and our mailbox so that we can have you all park vertically in front of our house. If you would pull in with your front end facing our house and the tail end of your vehicle toward the road we can fit 8 or 9 vehicles across. If we park horizontally we can only fit 3 or 4. Don't worry about pulling too far on the grass, just pull in far enough so that you are off the road as much as possible. Thanks for your help.
Special Needs Classes
We will be offering a dance class for girls with 'special needs' (Down Syndrome, High Functioning Asbergers and Autism etc). Good music can really brighten theses kids lives as they in turn "brighten the whole world." It will be one on one instruction for ages 5 and up. If you know anyone who may be interested in this opportunity, please let Marnie or Chasilyn know.
